1933 Charles Darrow 23 Inch Monopoly Board

This board was printed in late 1933 and was made from the original printer's letterpress plate used to print Darrow's Oilcloth playing boards. Instead of cloth, Darrow used paper, then wrapped the paper around cardboard game boards. This was Darrow's first hard surface board which preceded the production run of the 1934 Darrow White Box set which used a smaller 20 inch board.
As of 5/21, there were 3 known boards: 1 in the Strong Museum of Play, the one previously in the Fernandez Collection and now sold to a noted collector, and the one in the full 1933 White Box set.

Exceptionally Rare.
